A Guide to the Zipper Merge: How to not be a Dick

The Rule Book

Rule 1. Don't be a dick. Let people merge in. No, people in the merge lane that are passing you don't think they are "More important than you" they are simply following the law and using the lane as intended. (If you don't you're the reason there are miles of unnecessary traffic, asshole.)

Rule 2. Don't prematurely attempt to merge in stopped traffic and hold up miles of traffic.

Rule 3. Sitting in the middle of 2 lanes of traffic is ILLEGAL. Don't be that dick.

Rule 4. If you are already in the lane that is being merged into, don't change lanes to zip past people. That makes you a dick as well as makes people who are using the zipper merge appropriately be viewed as dicks by society.
